Treatment

Addictions

The main addictions hypnotherapy can help with are:
  • Smoking
  • Cannabis
  • Alcohol
  • Heroin & Methadone
  • Cocaine
  • Gambling
  • Pharmaceutical Drugs

What is Hypnosis

A hypnotic procedure is used to encourage and evaluate responses to suggestions. When using hypnosis, one person (the subject) is guided by another (the hypnotist) to respond to suggestions for changes in subjective experience, alterations in perception, sensation, emotion, thought or behavior. If the subject responds to hypnotic suggestions, it is generally inferred that hypnosis has been induced.

Cannabis

Once the addiction is recognised, one of the most common reactions is just how much marijuana has taken from your life. There are so many experiences that were missed, so many opportunities not taken all because you were dependant on weed for your enjoyment. For many, however, it is a rather liberating experience to know that once you have overcome your dependency, that there is a life waiting for you to experience.

Definition

A state of increased receptivity to suggestion and direction. Hypnosis is a human condition involving focused attention, reduced peripheral awareness, and an enhanced capacity to respond to suggestion.

History

The use of hypnotism in the medical field was made popular by surgeons and physicians like Elliotson and James Esdaile and researchers like James Braid who helped to reveal the biological and physical benefits of hypnotism.

Does It Work?

Before hypnosis can help the person who is addicted, they must recognise that they need help in a deep, profound way. Otherwise, no treatment can possibly help them in terms of trying to recover and gain back their lives. Too many people fool themselves into thinking that they either do not have a problem or that it does not control their lives.
